Managing the camera during a video call / meeting
EMDESK's built-in video meetings let you manage your camera during a call to control what others see.
Turning your camera on and off
Click the Camera icon in the meeting controls at the bottom to toggle your video on or off. When it's on, the icon is highlighted and others can see your video; when it's off, the icon is dimmed and others see your name or avatar instead.
Your camera status is visible to everyone in the meeting.
Virtual backgrounds
While your camera is on, click the action menu icon at the bottom and select Select background. Choose none, a blurred background, a stronger blur, or one of the provided images — or click + to upload your own.
Switching between cameras
If you have more than one camera, use the small arrow next to the Camera button to pick a different one.
Camera settings
- Click the three-dot (Settings) menu in the meeting toolbar.
- Select Settings.
- Click the Devices tab.
- Choose your preferred camera from the Camera dropdown if you have more than one.
💡 Note: Your browser may ask for permission to use your camera the first time you join a meeting — click "Allow".
